F. Hussain is dead. Long live his sane-paintings.

Yes. there are insane-paintings too. When he selectively (he had painted his own relatives, friends and fellow religionists in fully-clad forms) depicted Hindu Gods in nude/porn forms, he had crossed all the limits of artstic decency .

He had not expressed regret. Instead, he chose to verbally attack all those who have expressed their displeasure and moved to courts against him. Facing non-bailable arrest warrant, he fled the country of his birth, a tolerant democracy, to Qatar. He accused Indian society as intolerant of artistic freedom, and selected Qatar, an Islamic theocracy, as his new home. Perhaps it was a great nation on earth which has respected artistic freedom to the core!

No doubt he was a talented artist. One can always call M F Hussain, a great artist. But was he a great human being too?

Historically, we can recognize a form of human weakness that attributes great virtues to great achievers without any proof!

People who have opposed M. F. Hussain's obscene paintings of Hindu Gods/Godesses are now being portrayed as extremists. It seems, some of our politicians and media persons are determined to carry forward the tradition of attacking Hindus.

But reality is different People, who peacefully opposed Hussain's pornographic art were not extremists. They were just ordinary people who got upset. They were the members of the civil society. There were doctors, lawyers, journalists, teachers, students, Hindus, Muslims and Christians.

Artistic freedom does not mean that you can do mean things. Freedom is always a subject of decency and morality. You cannot violate artistic decency to show that you have artistic freedom. Even corrupt politicians take people to courts when they feel they are being "defamed".

Communities also get upset when they feel their sacred symbols are being desecrated.

Anyway, artists have excluded Prophet Muhammad from their canvas, isn't it? They have done it (barring one or two incidents) in good faith. Mutual respect is the key. Then why one should insult Hindus?

We all do not want child-porn. No artist can paint child-pornography. Laws will not permit that. Similarly, M. F. Hussain's God-pornography should be opposed too. And it was opposed by the civil society for that reason only.

There are limitations to artistic expressions. Child porn is universally banned. Likewise, God- porn depictions must also be banned. Civil society should not be assaulted in the name of artistic expressions.

It must be saved from art-attacks.

The quest for a theory of everything

This is an age of reasoning. Man has become more inquisitive. He is trying to understand the physical world in its entirety. A-theory-of-everything is the latest mantra of scientists. New mathematics is being developed to assist this exercise.

I think we have to tread a long way before we arrive at a mathematical unification. Still, it will be a "mathematical solution" and very difficult, if not impossible, to verify it through experimental physics.

LHC experiments to find "God particle" has a long way to go. It would take many decades, perhaps centuries, to process the huge data, to be gathered by these experiments.

Quantum mechanics is opposite of relativity theories. Currently string theory is doing the rounds and is the sole `hope' for the unified theory. Still, dark matter and black holes are not "revealing" themselves!

We are the creatures of three-dimensional world. Now scientists are talking about ten-dimensions and hyperspace! The latest researches point out, that, probably, we would never be able to unravel the secrets of the universe, or, at least, in the lifetime of our planet.

Is it skeptical view? I do not know. Our mathematics has not yet developed to suit the proportions and complexities of the universe.

We have had great scientists. Isaac Newton was a great genius. He developed mathematics on his own to present his own theories. We need many more such geniuses today.

Yes, we are progressing well towards a “theory of everything”. But time will certainly take stock of all theories. We had to believe Newton's static universe until Einstein and Edward Hubble showed us "different truths".

It is also true that human mind or intellect has its own limitations. Ancient Indians realized it and resorted to indirect methods in their quest for “ultimate reality”.

Upanishads and Geertha say Atma or Brahman is Shuddha, Buddha, Nithya, Anadi, Anantha and Achintya. It is Self and Him, says Advaita Vedanta.

Geetha says Atman is more sookshma than Paramanu, which is the smallest representative of the physical world in ancient books (we can include sub-atomic particles also, and everything including quarks and boson within Paramanu). Atman or Brahman is non-physical, space-less and time-less.

As we are the creatures of three-dimensional world, we can not visualize spaceless-ness and timeless-ness in our minds (time is also a physical dimension). Naasadeeya Sookta of Rgveda recognizes this.

That is why Adi Shankaracharya had to take different, a negative, route, to put-forth what he wanted to convey. That route is Neti, Neti, means Atman is NOT this, and NOT that. By trying to show what is NOT atman, he believed, that he can, to an extent, make us understand the true swaroopa of Him.

That is the limitation of languages. Timeless, space-less, beginning-less and end-less state of being is hard to realize and visualize. It is only a matter experience in the form of consciousness.

Atmajnani cannot explain physical / biological sciences. But he (she or anything) has no need to "understand" the physical, "unreal", world, the domain of "scientists".

But I find universe as a different thing, in the sense that it is a physical world. But I also believe that at the highest level, physical science has to be one with spiritual reality.

As for theory-of-everything with regard to the physical world, we need to have a more advanced mathematics, for it is the language of the nature (Apara Vidya). For that, we need to wait for a while.

Here, we have a great paradox. More we dig up the cosmos; we end up with more questions!

That is the beauty of science. Worldly life (loukika jeevana) will be exciting only if something remains to be known! Certainly ignorance is not bliss, the path of trying to acquire knowledge is blissful!

I do not think everything with regard to the universe or physical world will be explained to everyone's satisfaction in the near future. Again, that theory-of-everything will be open for further assessments. Now, even Einstein's relativity theories (vis-à-vis space-time) are being reassessed.

The vastness and complexities of the universe will engage human mind endlessly!

(C) G. Like Rajiv Gandhi again, he ended up in corruption scandals. But unlike Rajiv Gandhi, he took all the blame, took his conscience as his guide, became sensitive to public mood and … committed suicide.

That was South Korea’s former president Roh Moo-Hyun. He was a human rights lawyer. He worked for student activists of South Korea and worked for national unity. In 2003 he became the 16th president of his country. So far so good.

But gradually he drifted towards incompetence and corruption and ended his presidency in 2008 with eroded public support. Later, bribery scandals surrounded him. During his leadership his Uri Party had collapsed like a pack of cards.

Roh succumbed to temptation while in office. He succumbed to internal pressure afterwards. He did not want to show his face to the public anymore. After leaving a suicide note, he jumped from a mountain cliff on 23 May 2009 [His funeral on 29 May was possibly the largest-ever attended popular gathering in recent memory, an indication of public forgiveness of a tarnished hero - editor].

Can we ever imagine such a situation in India? I am not glorifying the suicide. Suicides of politicians are not uncommon in the world. Even Adolf Hitler had committed suicide. Death would never wash off one’s sins or misdeeds. Japan has a large list of politicians who have committed suicide in the midst of scandals. Suicide is not self-sacrifice. But we need to note Roh’s sensitivity to public opinion.

This brings us to an important question: how many Rohs do we have in India? Wikipedia has a huge list of politicians who have committed suicide. But there are no Indian names in that list. There are two reasons for this. One, Indian thought does not believe in the finality of death. Secondly, Indian politicians are “mature enough” to defend themselves even against glaring evidences!

Leave suicide aside. How many of our ministers, Chief Ministers and Prime Ministers have voluntarily resigned over corruption and criminal allegations? We always cite the example of Lal Bahadur Shastri, who resigned as a Union Minister for Railways, after a train accident in 1956. Only one example!

Leave the old-timers aside. Take Rajiv Gandhi, widely regarded as a young, modern and promising leader. As Prime Minister, the purported “Mr. Clean” faced many allegations like the Bofors payoffs, Octavio Quattrocchi’s escapades, and dirty money from the KGB, etc. Although he was personally implicated in the scandals, he never offered to resign to facilitate an impartial investigation (he was posthumously cleared of the Bofors allegation in 2004 due to “lack of evidence”).

Mr. V.P. Singh, who uncovered the Bofors scandal as Rajiv’s Defense Minister, did nothing to take the investigation to its logical end when he became Prime Minister! P.V. Narasimha Rao, Deve Gowda, Inder Gujral and Atal Bihari Vajpayee also could not get any conviction in the Bofors case. P.V. Narasimha Rao as Prime Minister was associated with various corruption charges such as the JMM bribery scandal, St. Kitts forgery scandal, Harshad Mehta’s bribery allegation and stock market scandal, Lakhubhai Pathak cheating scandal. He never consulted his “insider” then.

This is the situation in India. What sort of sensitiveness can be expected from persons like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Shibu Soren, Mayawati, Sonia Gandhi, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Karunanidhi, Deve Gowda, and Jayalalithaa? Insensitiveness to public opinion is now being regarded as an “important quality” to “survive” in politics!

Until 1999, BJP leaders were able to keep themselves away from major corruption charges, although in public perception not all of them were clean. In 2000, Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha’s decision to ‘let off’ Mauritius-based foreign institutional investors over the double taxation issue became a major controversy. He did not offer to resign.

In 2001, the then BJP president Bangaru Laxman was involved in a major controversy. Tehelka.com showed him taking bribes on a hidden camera. He did not volunteer to quit, but was forced to step down as a criminal case was registered against him. Even then he termed the event as “a conspiracy to sideline a dalit leader”!

Former Union Minister and Congress leader Sukh Ram was unperturbed when convicted in the disproportionate assets case recently. His illegal assets included Rs 2.45 crores in cash, recovered from his official residence in Delhi, and Rs 1.16 crore from his house in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. These were amassed during 1991 to 1996 when he was a minister. He was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and fined Rs 2 lakh. The Special CBI Court also ordered forfeiture of his disproportionate assets. All that Sukh Ram had to say was: “This is a conspiracy by my enemies to finish me”!

No question of morality, no call of conscience, no explanation, no sense of responsibility, no sensitivity!

The list of insensitive Indian leaders is endless. Among these Sonia Gandhi has cultivated a unique formula: “never respond to allegations”. She has not responded to any of the myriad serious allegations made against her!

In a brilliant article (http://www.boloji.com/myword/mw042.htm) columnist Rajinder Puri unearths many skeletons from her closet:–

“Dr. Yevgenia Albats is a Soviet journalist who officially investigated the KGB when the communist regime was still in control. She was appointed as a member of the official KGB Commission set up by President Yeltsin in 1991. She had full access to secret files of the KGB. She authored a book, The State within a State: KGB and Its Hold on Russia… After translating official KGB documents Dr. Albats disclosed in her book that KGB chief Victor Chebrikov in December 1985 had sought in writing from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), ‘authorization to make payments in US dollars to the family members of Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, namely Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Ms Paola Maino, mother of Sonia Gandhi.’ CPSU payments were authorized by a resolution, CPSU/CC/No 11228/3 dated 20/12/1985; and endorsed by the USSR Council of Ministers in Directive No 2633/Rs dated 20/12/1985. These payments had been coming since 1971, as payments received by Sonia Gandhi’s family and “have been audited in CPSU/CC resolution No 11187/22 OP dated 10/12/1984.”

“… In 1992 the media confronted the Russian government with the Albats disclosure. The Russian government confirmed the veracity of the disclosure and defended it as necessary for “Soviet ideological interest”. The Hindu of July 4, 1992 carried this report. Mr. AG Noorani included this information in an article published in The Statesman of January 31, 1998. In December 2001, Dr. Subramanian Swamy filed a Writ Petition in the Delhi High Court with relevant KGB photocopies and sought a CBI investigation. In May 2002 the Court ordered CBI to ascertain from Russia the truth of these charges. The CBI stalled for two years and eventually told the Court that without a registered FIR the Russians would not entertain any such query. But why was not an FIR registered? ... In November 1991 the respected Swiss magazine, Schweitzer Illustrate, published a report alleging that Rajiv Gandhi had 2.5 billion Swiss francs, equivalent roughly to two billion US dollars, in numbered Swiss bank accounts.”

Where is Sonia Gandhi’s famous “inner voice”? Doesn’t she owe an explanation? Among leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Roh Moo Hyun stands out as a sterling example. He could have apologized and started out afresh after serving his jail term. But that requires a different personality.

Our own “leaders” defend themselves against all glaring evidences and shift all blame on others till eternity! Missionaries and their supporters present conversion as the only "antidote" available. And missionaries are "doctors," hell bent on administering that antidote! And our "secularists" have been repeating it.

"Caste" was an old weapon of missionaries who established the conversion business in India. Anti-Brahminism, "Dravidianism," conversion as "the solution" to caste and the Aryan-Dravidian divide were effectively introduced as stratagems for conversion by Bishop Robert Caldwell. In his book "Christianity explained to Hindus: Christianity and Hinduism compared" (1893), he wrote that caste first arose from difference of race; people with black skin were "original inhabitants of India" (p. 20).

"On the other hand", he wrote, "Christianity teaches that God gave us life and continually preserves us. He is therefore our Father in heaven… The Brotherhood of man follows Fatherhood of God… But Hinduism makes life a curse instead of a blessing" (p. 20-21). Caldwell’s arguments are well known. His "Dravidian Grammar" was a trend-setter. But why did he painstakingly write so many books? If we read his lecture, "Progress of Christianity in India" we get the answer.

He says, "an encouraging amount of interest in the progress of Christianity has now at last been awakened, and a demand for information has been excited: it is now felt that a great door and effectual has been opened to us in India, and that the conversion of India to Christ is one of the greatest works, if not the great work, to which the Church and nation of England are called" (Lectures on the Tinnevelly Missions, 1857, p. 4).

For sheer audacity and bigotry, Caldwell could today be called a "cultural terrorist". Yet his views are endorsed by a section of India's "secular" intelligentsia! They were reiterated in Karnataka's recent public debate on conversion.

The debate on conversion was launched by the oldest Kannada daily, Samyukta Karnataka, with some well-researched articles by selected writers and scholars (my own essay has appeared in Karmaveera, a weekly of the same group). Taking the cue, the largest circulated Kannada daily, Vijay Karnataka, provided a platform for a bare-all debate. Noted Kannada novelist Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa started with a big bang with his one-and-a half-page article. Every small and big, famous and notorious person in Karnataka has presented his or her opinion on the subject.

Professional missionaries kept silent; our secularists did all the batting on their behalf! Once again, leftists are proving that they are "more Christian" than the original faith-sellers.

First of all, is it good to debate conversion as suggested by some political leaders time and again? Should anybody debate conversion with anybody else out on the street? Would one debate it with professional missionaries, who have taken a vow, or money, to compulsively meet a number of people everyday just to persuade them to embrace Christianity? Should we organize an open debate at an open forum where anybody, from a scholar to a street vendor, from a professional gangster to a professional pimp, could come and vent his "thoughts"?

I do not suggest we should shy away from such debates. While they do not solve any religious problem, they bring pertinent questions into the open. Let people be aware of everything vis-à-vis conversion and Christianity, and about castes.

Hindus should not hesitate to debate caste as they have nothing to hide. But they should understand what Christianity is all about. They should study and debate its history and methods of expansion, its "spiritualism" and "brotherhood." They should ask missionaries why casteless societies were converted to Christianity throughout the ages and throughout the world.

Missionaries' typical answers are well known. In India, "conversion is the best solution for caste-based differences within Hindu society;" in America, "barbaric tribes had to be civilized and spiritualized." They always proffer local issues to justify conversions. In India's case, most proponents of Christianity's "monolithic unity" and Hinduism’s "caste- based divisions" invoke B.R. Ambedkar to remain politically correct while attacking the faith! But all fail to explain why Ambedkar did not convert to Caldwell's "great brotherhood" called Christianity.

In fact, Ambedkar wanted to send a strong message through his religious conversion. After examining Christianity, he wrote in 1938: "caste governs the life of Christians as much as it does the life of the Hindus. There are Brahmin Christians and non-Brahmin Christians. Among non-Brahmin Christians there are Maratha Christians, Mahar Christians, Mang Christians and Bhangi Christians. Similarly in the south there are Pariah Christians, Malla Christians and Madiga Christians. They would not inter-marry. They would not inter-dine" (Selected Speeches and Writings, Vol. 5, Government of Maharashtra, 1989, p. 445-78).

Ambedkar converted to Buddhism as it was a "part and parcel of Bharatiya culture." He said: "I have taken care that my conversion will not harm the tradition of the culture and the history of this land" (Quoted in 'Ambedkar', by Dhananjay Keer, p. 498).

The hard truth is that even Buddhism is not a monolithic unity! It has different schools of thought and different traditional streams. For that matter where do we find the most unified, rock-solid group on earth? Is Islam one single entity? Is Christianity a superb monolith? If so, since when? Since its inception or through "spiritualism"? Since the First Council of Nicaea, when Emperor Constantine decided, at sword-point, what should and should not be the tenets of 'official' Christianity? Or since the Second Vatican Council, when it was decided to establish the supremacy of Catholicism once again?

Let us examine the facts; consult their own sources.

Christians are not one; they are divided into separate churches and traditions. Over the centuries, Christianity has divided into numerous denominations. Each denomination has its own distinctive beliefs or practices, yet we hold them to be branches of the same religion. But when it comes to Hindu society, every Tom, Dick or Harry talks about caste and asks us "where is the common unity?" as if there is no common thread of beliefs among Hindus!

Although missionaries never talk about their internal divisions openly, conversion always happens to a particular denomination, to a particular church. One can never get converted to "Christianity". He or she can only become a member of a particular church. When former British Prime Minister Tony Blair converted to the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican community and its church vehemently protested.

Why do street missionaries never talk about their internal divisions? This is an age-old strategy. The famous Christian apologist, C.S. Lewis, who wrote Mere Christianity, in 1940s, reminded believers about this strategy: "our divisions should never be discussed except in the presence of those who have already come to believe that there is one God and that Jesus Christ is his only Son"!

Let us move on to the denominations. In 1985, it was estimated that there were 22,000 Christian denominations with 5 new ones being formed each week! There are nearly 34,000 (probably more) Christian and Messianic denominations and churches in the world now. These may be broken down to six different main blocks:

1] Independents 22000
2] Protestants 9000
3] 'Marginals' 1600
4] Orthodox 781
5] Roman Catholics 242
6] Anglicans 168
Total 33791
(Source: World Christian Encyclopedia, by Barrett, Kurian, Johnson; Oxford Univ. Press, 2nd edition, 2001, Vol. 1, p.16-18).

What are denominations? The encyclopedia explains: "a denomination is defined in this Encyclopedia as an organized aggregate of worship centers or congregations of similar ecclesiastical tradition within a specific country; i.e. as an organized Christian church or tradition or religious group or community of believers, within a specific country, whose component congregations and members are called by the same denominational name in different areas, regarding themselves as one autonomous Christian church distinct from other denominations, churches and traditions. As defined here, world Christianity consists of 6 major ecclesiastico-cultural blocs, divided into 300 major ecclesiastical traditions, composed of over 33,000 distinct denominations in 238 countries, these denominations themselves being composed of over 3,400,000 worship centers, churches or congregations" (Barrett et al, Vol. 1, page 16, Table 1-5).

Pope John Paul II once called Protestant missionaries "rapacious wolves" for converting Catholics! So much for "monolithic unity"! In the second week of August 2007, Roman Catholics, Protestants, Methodists, Pentecostals, Orthodox, Evangelicals (sounds like caste names!) gathered to map a "common religious conversion code" in France. The code, which has to be finalized in a year or two, was named "Ethical Conversion Code".

"Conversion is a controversial issue not only in inter-religious relations, but in intra-Christian relations as well," admitted Dr. Hans Ucko, World Council of Churches programme executive and one of the organizers of the meeting.

So much for "monolithic unity" and "great brotherhood"!

(C) G. Does it bothered by Pakistan based Jihadi terrorism? That could be one of its fears. But the CSF has different hints.

“AP, TN, UP, JK, Goa, Kerala, Mumbai, Gujarat, Karnataka, New Delhi, Rajastan, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab-Haryana, ..these are the places where Christians have been attacked. Dozens of Churches, Chapels, & Crosses were torched & vandalized. Alters, Relics, Bibles, Statues, Blessed Sacrament, etc. were desecrated. Nuns were raped & molested, while priests/pastors/leaders were murdered. Christian land/resources were captured. Women and children were not spared...” the pamphlet goes on and on.

Although a Orissa nun, who has complained that some Hindu activists have raped her, is not co-operating with investigative agencies, and also has failed to prove any sexual activity though medical tests, the CSF has put forth her charge as a fact. See how rapes and murders are generalized.

Its conclusion: Christians are being persecuted in India by Hindu organizations.

Next focus is on media. “The media of course will give publicity. Christians should be able to manage that well….” It goes on. "But that is not enough. We have to go back to our own places. And everything will be repeated again”.

Then, what is the solution?

“Maoists have warned the RSS/VHP against Christmas bandhs” the pamphlet informs. 'But that development may lead to another mayhem", it suspects. See how Maoists were invoked! What CSF has to do with Maoists?

Recent media reports indicate Maoist-Missionary nexus in Orissa. Is CSF also a party in this arrangement?

"According to Vatican sources, Muslims outnumbered Catholics in the world and churches are converted into mosques", it says. In India, Hindus are persecuting Catholics and all over the world Muslims are overwhelming them, it informs.

So, what needs to be done to counter all this?

The CSF has devised a plan. “There has been a great interaction between India’s Christian Who’s Who and some community leaders met in Mumbai recently to brain-storm….We concluded that the desperate need of the hour is a national, activist, all inclusive (all denominations) and representative mechanism or structure was a must to meet the Goliaths ahead…This is to empower Christians economically and politically….We decided no turning back…Our initiative includes data bank, a think tank, corpus fund, political lobbying, networking for self-sufficiency” etc.

That means more Christian activism in the coming days; more aggressive conversion plans to compete with the growing number of Muslims; more clever media management; more political lobbying. More reliance on Maoists and other terrorists to meet its ends.

“We aim to have by next year, a grand federation of every Christian hue & shade. Thousands of Christian churches, organizations, institutions, activists, NGOs, etc. with no discrimination on the basis of Denomination - Protestant, Evangelical, Catholic, Region, Clergy, Laity, Rite – truly the body of Christ in the country.

See how CSF is in panic mode. See how fear-psychosis is being created. See how there is no introspection about religious conversion, which is the root cause of any inter-religious tension.

Indirectly, more conversions are guaranteed. “It’s the Lord’s work. And by His Spirit, success is guaranteed” the CSF screams!

(C) G. Here's my quick take:

I think BJP hasn't lost much. However, it has lost one state, Rajastan. Congress hasn't lost anything. It gained one state. In Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, people have restored their old governments. They voted for their seemingly "strong" leaders.

Situation in Rajastan was different. Anti-incumbancy mood was slightly visible among the electorate in this state. Moreover, Vasundhara Raje had many dissidents inside the party. In-fighting, caste politics and her own "egoistic" image, all contributed to the defeat of BJP there. But the party has managed to secure "respectable" number of seats.

Since 2004, the Congress party was on a losing spree. With the gain of Rajastan, it has now got a little push. But it is too early to celebrate. But the party has already started projecting Rahul Gandhi as an "architect" of its victory!

That is far from the truth.

If Congress wins anywhere, he takes the credit for himself. If it is defeated anywhere, then it is the "collective responsibility of all leaders"!

Rahul hasn't proved anything. Right from Uttar Pradesh, he had failed in every state he campainned except Rajastan. But the sycophants of the Sonia Gandhi dynasty are in upbeat mood.

Sonia and Rahul still need to explain why they could not grab Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh from BJP. In these states the Congress has fared very badly.

After these results, it is curious to observe how 81 years old L.K. Advani of BJP appeals to young voters in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. His personal charisma and integrity haven't suffered a bit over the years. But on the capability front he is yet to prove himself as "a new iron man". His policies about terrorism, economy, foreign relations are yet to be announced. Many see relatively young Narendra Modi as a good replacement to Advani. He is emerging as a popular mass-leader. But, Narendra Modi has many enemies inside the party than outside of it. So, the then Home minister of India, Shivraj Patil, who was very "famous" for his comical, non-serious statements, "rushed" to some places where some of the attacks had taken place.

Later, he gave a hero's statement to media thus: "Before I could reach there, the terrorists who had attacked one of the hospitals, had left and those who attacked the railway station had also left"!!

On 28th, Union minister of state for home Sriprakash Jaiswal said: "We have gathered a lot of information and all the terrorists were foreigners. Some of them were from Pakistan and some from other countries. They had come through the sea route”.

But he added: "There were serial blasts in Bengaluru just before the Assembly elections were held in Karnataka. Similarly, Assembly elections are soon to happen in four other states. We also have to take note that three senior Maharashtra ATS officers have died in ambush with terrorists. Certain political parties have been targeting the ATS for the last one month. All these factors will be part of the further investigations”.

That was a clear reference to BJP, his political opposition party!

Vilasrao Deshmukh went a step further.

On November 30, a day after the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asked for the ISI chief to be called to India as investigations had revealed a Pak-hand in the Terror attacks, he spoke to the press after a special cabinet meeting.

Deshmukh told the media persons that there was no information available from initial investigations to nail Pakistan! He even denied that people were taken as hostages!

He said: "If people would have been taken as hostages, then terrorists would have put some demands. But there were no demands”!!

These are our "leaders".

Shame on them.

(C) G. But, unfortunately, after it got hit directly.

Till the attack on Mumbai’s five star hotels on 26/11/2008, India’s elite, with some exceptions, had kept itself away from the issue or problem of “jihadi terrorism”.

“Terrorism” was not present in our business persons’ drawing room menu. If anybody had uttered the very word “terrorism” with seriousness in any business or kitty parties, he or she would be looked upon as a “crude, unsophisticated, middle-class” person, who was not fit to attend parties of “high society”.

This is not to vilify our own people. But the glaring truth was that Indian elite always thought terrorism as not “its” problem.

When Mumbai’s local trains were bombed in July 2006 nobody of any financial worth has come out of his/her bungalow. No business leader has condemned the violence. No Bollywood actor mourned the death of innocents with candles in his/her hand. As Shobha De pointed out in Tehelka, corporate India had taped its mouth and refused to comment on that dastardly attack on the commercial heart of our country. No single captain of industry spoke out against the government's failure to ensure safety.

What has happened has happened. Now when directly hit by the terrorists our elite has woken up. Now every big and small person of any significance, is speaking against terror. Everyone is demanding action from the government. This is a good development. Let us hope this unity of all Indian citizens lasts long. Let us hope our sense of oneness lasts forever.

First, let us welcome the elite to the national mainstream.

(C) G. But organized religions always swear by one supreme “spiritual” commander. Others are just “members” or “followers”. Members of the Churches always look forward to their commander’s orders on everything, as Muslims also do.

Canonization is an administrative decision of Vatican. Last Pope canonized more number of persons than the total figure “achieved” by all the popes in the history put together! He even canonized known criminals as it was a political exercise.

Pope John Paul II, who was known as "saint-making pope", abolished the post of devil's advocte and eased the process of saint-making by amending Vatican's all relevant laws.

One's spiritual progress has nothing to do with bureaucratic approvals. Do you need someone to declare whether your devotion to god is genuine or not?

Incidentally, how many popes are "saints"? But they have the power to bestow "Sainthood" to others!

To thrive, Christianity (Churchianity) needs official saints! Church grows by invoking their names.

For the last five years how many Hindu Saints have found place on Indian coins?

One should ask Sonia Gandhi.

© G. Just after the train left Godhra Station, it was forcibly stopped and attacked at Signal Falia Neighborhood by Muslim mob. One of the coaches (S-6) was set on fire. 58 Hindu pilgrims were burnt alive.

Justice Nanavati-Justice Shah Commision, that enquired the Godhra train carnage case and subsequent violence in Gujarat, has now clearly stated that the train carnage was indeed a mob-terror by Muslims.

The Commision’s report on Godhra incident confirms the fact when it says: “on the basis of facts and circumstances, proved by evidence, the Commission comes to the conclusion that the burning of coach S-6 was a pre-planned act. In other words, there was a conspiracy to burn coach S-6 of Sabarmati train coming from Ayodhya and to cause harm to the Karsevaks travelling in that coach…. All the passengers have stated that attack with stones had continued for 10-20 minutes so that the passengers could not come out of the coach….140 liters of petrol were purchased by the conspirators on 26.2.2002 to carry out this conspiracy… The conspirators had opened the sliding door of S-6 leading to coach S-7 and entered the coach S-6 through that door. Hassan Lala had thrown a burning rag which led to the fire in coach S-6….. The confessions disclosed that Razak Kurkur and Salim Panwala were the two main persons who had organized execution of the plan and what was being done was according to what was planned earlier on the directions of Maulvi Umarji. All acts, procuring petrol, circulating false rumor, stopping the train and entering the coach S-6 were the objective of the conspiracy. This conspiracy hatched by these persons further appears to be a part of a larger conspiracy to create terror and destabilize the administration… There is absolutely no evidence to show that either Chief Minister and/or any other Ministers in his Council of Ministers or Police Officers have played any role in the Godhra incident or that there was any lapse on their part in the matter of providing protection, relief, rehabilitation to the victims or in the matter of not complying with the recommendations and directions given by National Human Rights Commission.”

But our “secular” mediapersons say they don’t believe the conclusions of Nanavati-Shah commission’s report. Our “secular” politicians say that these findings are on the expected lines.

According to them, the fire was accidental; or, it was Karsevaks’ self-immolation; there was absolutely no provocation for riots; Muslims never provoked anybody; it was a conspiracy of Hindus themselves to carry out a pogrom of Muslims!! They still swear by Justice U.C. Banerjee Committee’s report, which had stated that nobody had set the train on fire.

Here enters the clash between two contradictory reports. What is the truth? Which report is correct? What is the legal position? Why our “secularists” blame Hindus?
First, let us look at the report that came first.

Two and a half year after the Godhra-carnage, in September 2004, Railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav appointed Justice Umesh Chandra Banerjee to “investigate” the matter. Justice U.C. Banerjee completed his “investigation” very quickly and released his report just before Lalu’s home state of Bihar’s assembly elections!

His report ruled out the possibility of any mob terror and categorically stated that the fire was just “an accident which resulted out of cooking being carried within the carriage itself”. He also ruled out external attacks.

These “cooked-up findings” have been questioned as being politically motivated. The Gujarat High Court ruled on October 13, 2006, that the very formation of Banerjee committee itself was “illegal” and “unconstitutional”! Subsequently, the Supreme Court of India stayed the cicular of Banerjee’s report.

These judgments are still in force and Banerjee’s “probe results” stand invalid!

On the contrary, Gujarat government had set up a commission of enquiry on March 6, 2002, just a week after the Godhra carnage and when the subsequent violence was still on. It was headed by retired High Court judge K. G. Shah. But some Muslim organizations and “secular” political parties alleged that Justice Shah was close to the BJP, hence, his report would not be impartial. Then on May 22, the government reconstituted the commission by appointing the retired Supreme Court Judge Girish Thakorlal Nanavati as its head.

Note that it was a full-fledged Inquiry Commission duly constituted under the provisions of The Commission of Inquiry act, 1952. Whereas, Banerjee committee was not a Commission, it was just a committee constituted by the Union Railway Ministry, wrongly exercising the powers vested under Article 73 of the Constitution of India, which states the extent of executive power of the Union.

The two panels and their conclusions are not comparable.

First of all, Nanavati-Shah Commision has gone through the judicial scrutiny. The appointments to this Commission were held valid by the Gujarat High Court and the Supreme Court. As has already been shown, constitution of Banerjee committee was held as bad in law. The Gujarat High Court has also banned the tabling of Banerjee’s report on the floor of the Parliament.

Banerjee Committee, which was illegal as per the court verdict, has examined a handful of train passengers and some witnesses before coming to the conclusion in record time. It had not examined any of the investigating officers, whom the secular media had, by then, successfully portrayed as partisan demons. The committee did not go through the case papers on record. It did not give private individuals and political parties any opportunity to be heard.

Fire on the train was accidental, it said. The cause for fire was cooking being done inside the carriage, it said. No external attack has happened, it said.

Meaning? All eye-witness accounts, documentary evidences, thousands of statements were false! Rubbish!!

During the last 6 years, Nanavati and Shah have examined a large number of evidences with a fine-tooth comb and recorded everything in their report (Justice Shah passed away a couple of months ago). It has examined documentary evidences, eye-witnesses, expert witnesses, forensic experts and investigating officers. According to reports, the commission has received applications and affidavits from 44,475 persons! Government officers have filed 2019 statements. All the witnesses were also cross-examined by the lawyers.

Forget about the Nanavati-Shah Commission. Even the influential media itself had initially reported the truth.

Before “correcting” themselves, the “secular” and “foreign” media groups clearly identified Godhra incident as an attack by “an angry mob”.

I just give a few examples. Take the case of BBC. It has always been uncomfortable with Hindu interests. Even it had reported that the passengers of the S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express were not allowed to escape. It quoted some survivors and reported that they were stoned continuously for 10-20 minutes until the coach was completely burnt.

The Tribune (28 February, 2002, Chandigarh) reported : “As the train left Godhra station, one of the miscreants who had boarded it, pulled the chain alarm to halt the train a kilometer away. It was here that a large number of stone-pelting miscreants set the coach ablaze by throwing petrol bombs and dousing it with kerosene and petrol.”

After extensively quoting a survivor, one Mr. Patel, CNN narrated the whole story on February 27, 2003, one year after the attack. That report is still available at http://edition.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/asiapcf/south/02/27/gujarat.survivor.ap/ . According to the report, “The train reached the station at Godhra at 8 a.m., more than five hours late. It soon pulled out of the station, but screeched to a halt. Patel, who was in the bathroom, heard rocks raining on the roof. “I heard noises of people shouting outside: `Kill them! Cut them up!"' Patel said. He looked out and saw men with sticks attacking the train car. The train erupted in panic. Patel used his handkerchief to bandage a woman wounded by rock. Then a burning rag was thrown in the train. The passengers doused that fire with water, he said. Then someone poured a flammable liquid into the car, and a burning torch. Within minutes, the coach was full of smoke. Passengers were choking. Patel and two dozen others leaped out and began pulling others out. But dozens were already burned. Many died screaming.”

Accidental fire?
“Yes”, still our “proud secularists” maintain!

Indian “secularism”, which swears by Militant Islam, is, as always, shameless.

There are many attempts to equate Indian secular mindset with the vote-bank politics. But pro-Islam secularists do not abandon their brand of “secularism” even if they do not get the votes of Muslims!

This is a very curious-mindset, which has nothing to do with the original concept of secularism. We will understand our secularists’ mindset better if we acknowledge the fact that Islam is very much involved here, either as Islamophobia or as Islamophilia.

Egypt-born Islamic-scholar Bat Ye’or, who has studied Christian and Jewish societies, called this meek mindset as dhimmitude that never questions its inferior status vis-à-vis Muslims. According to her, “Dhimmitude derives from the surrender of the clergy and political leaders to the Muslim jihad armies, and their submission to Islamic domination of both their lands and peoples….Sometimes submission to Islam was rooted in personal ambition. Dhimmitude often induced self-hatred, and hatred against those who resisted the jihad and Muslim domination. Christian dhimmitude has been a world force for Islamization throughout history.”

Hindus too have a similar history. And a section of the Hindu society was also subjected to the force of Dhimmah. “I realize that my study of dhimmitude remains incomplete,” says Bat Ye’or, “because it is limited to Jews and Christians. It should be supplemented by the dhimmitude of the Zoroastrians, located in an inferior category, and that of Buddhists and Hindus, considered as idolaters. A few books on this subject have recently been published in India. The picture they paint is similar to that of regions to the west of the Indian subcontinent.”

In the Indian context, I called our secularism, which is nothing but the manifestation of Hindu-dhimmitude mindset, as dhimmitva in my writings. Now, Dhimmitva is in full swing. Besides, leftists have their own political agenda.

Anyway, forget dhimmis. Finally, truth has come out. Political conspiracy to protect the miscreants has failed. Now you can loudly shout this truth from your rooftop.

(C) G. The decision to close down all catholic-run schools was taken on the directives of the Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI) after consultation with different churches.

August 29 was Friday, and no national holiday was declared on that day. Then, why did CBCI decide to give a holiday to the school children?

It was "protesting the communal violence on Christians" in the Indian state of Orissa.

Yes, Orissa is undergoing communal tension and violence and Hindu-Christian riots after the murder of 80 year old Hindu monk Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati allegedly by a group of armed Christian terrorists.

Although it is a law and order problem of the Orissa state government, missionaries have every right to express their views. Everybody in India, a liberal democracy, has a right to register his or her peaceful protest on any public matter. CBCI missionaries could register their feelings about the communal violence in hundreds of other ways. But why did they chose to involve innocent children in this highly poilitical and religious exercise?

What if missionaries own a big airlines company, road transport network, shipping unit, postal network etc.? Would they have stopped all of these services to "register their protest"?

Yes. that is the typical missionary mind! Most of the missionaries are experts not only in converting people but also in converting every situation to their advantage by crying wolf and unleashing huge, systematic propaganda. History is full of such stories.

Just one example. Some years ago, two nuns were allegedly raped in Jabua of Madhya Pradesh state. The nuns complained that some local Hindu activists had raped them. Immeadiately senior missionaries screamed that Hindus were raping nuns all over India. The news got international attention and very soon became a hot topic all over the world. Big protests were planned and undertaken. Later, after the investigation, it was turned out to be a fradulent charge. The nuns were actually molested by some local Christian activists, over an internal issue. But Hindus got all the blame! That is the typical missionary-bluff.

What happened in Orissa? Swamy Lakshmananannda, a well-known, highly respectable Hindu spiritual leader of Orissa's Kandhmal district, who also belonged to Vishva Hindu Parishad, was preventing Hindus from becoming Christians. He was a big threat to missionary campaigns.

On August 23, a Krishna Janmashtami Day, Swamiji was preparing to worship Lord Krishna in his ashram. According to reports, "a group of 30-40 armed assailants surrounded the place. Eyewitnesses said about four of the assailants carried AK-47s and many others had revolvers. The assailants tied down the two guards, and gagged them. They then sought out the Swamiji within the premises and opened fire on him. The recovered bullets show they were from an AK-47, the police said. The assailants then warned the guards not to raise an alarm and fled the scene."

Police initially suspected Maoist- terrorists. But nobody in the area believes that. It was a known fact that the Swamiji had a threat from the local Christian conversion-mafia. He had repeatedly lodged police complaints about his threat perceptions. Hindu-Christian communal clash has started after his brutal murder.

Missionaries have a right to tell their own version of the story. But they do not have any right to politicize the innocent school children for their own religious purposes.

Karnataka Government has already issued notices to aided Christian institutions for the illegal closure of schools. But the state's Congress leaders have come to the rescue of missionaries. Their take: You cannnot issue notices to missionary schools just beacuse they take aid from the state. They can do anything. They have every right to register their protest even by closing the schools they run.

The law is very clear. According to the landmark judgment given by the Supreme Court on October 31, 2002, the right to administer minority educational institution is not absolute. The court has held that all aided institutions could be subject to regulatory measures by the state. It was a 11-judge Constitution Bench, headed by the then Chief Justice, B.N. Kirpal, and also, an unanimous verdict. The apex court had also said that states could apply regulations even to unaided minority institutions to achieve educational excellence. As per the law, all aided minority schools should take non-minority students as well. The percentage of such students is fixed by the concerned state or university. But the Congress Party, headed by a Roman Catholic, wants to find itself with the law-breakers!

It is highly condemnable act on the part of the Catholic Church. Nobody with clear conscience and morality would use children to register a sectarian protest, for that mater, any protest. At this age, they have a right to receive non-partisan education in a scietific way.

A child's mind should not get corrupted. But CBCI is behaving like Jamat-e-Islami and Tablig-e-Jamaat. After turning St. Stephen's College of Delhi into a Christian Deoband, the emboldened CBCI is perhaps getting ready to create Christian Madrassas out of Catholic Schools.

(c) G. Hence, it was introduced by the then speaker of the house Shivraj Patil (now, incidentally, the insensitive home minister, who is fomenting trouble), and cutting across party lines, the entire house voted in favor of it and adopted it unanimously.

The resolution firmly declared that: (a) The State of Jammu & Kashmir has been, is and shall be an integral part of India and any attempts to separate it from
the rest of the country will be resisted by all necessary means; (b) India has the will and capacity to firmly counter all designs against its unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity (c) Pakistan must vacate the areas of the Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir they have occupied through aggression.

We have Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act - 1967, that clearly states that asking for secession and even suggesting somebody to secede amounts to treason.

The Act clearly defines “unlawful activities” in Section 2 thus: “‘unlawful activity’, in relation to an individual or association, means any action taken by such individual or association (whether by committing an act or by words, either spoken or written, or by signs or by visible representation or otherwise),- ; which is intended, or supports any claim, to bring about, on any ground whatsoever, the cession of a part of the territory of India or the secession of a part of the territory of India from the Union, or which incites any individual or group of individuals to bring about such cession or secession; which disclaims, questions, disrupts or is intended to disrupt the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India."

Now come to the IPC. According to Section 124-A of Indian Penal Code, "Whoever, by words, either spoken or written, or by signs, or by visible representation, or otherwise, brings or attempts to bring into hatred or contempt, or excites or attempts to excite disaffection towards the Government established by law in India, shall be punished with imprisonment for life, to which fine may be added, or with imprisonment which may extend to three years, to which fine may be added, or with fine."

You see, Indian laws are very clear about this issue. Only issue that remains is that you do not have a government that applies them in the interest of the nation.
This is not the first time that Arundhati is acting against the interests of India. When India conducted nuclear tests on May 11, 1998, she declared that she was seceding from India and called herself a "mobile republic". On Narmada issue she openly challenged the authority of the Supreme Court of India and even got a "token" punishment from the court for contempt of court.

The time has come to show Arundhati and others their right place in jail. "We will not get perturbed" they declared. And with that, their responsibility ends.

Unfortunatelely, Indian "secular leaders" regard and treat each end every terrorist attack as a separate, isolated incident. So, they don't get perturbed.

Whether it is in Jaipur, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Varanasi, Malegao, Ahmadabad, Coimbatore, Jammu, Kashmir Valley or any other town, jihadi terrorism is intended, aided, abetted, designed, coordinated and well orchestrated by Pakistan. Bangladesh is cooperating with Pak's intelligence wing, ISI. When this is as clear as writing on the wall, why are we failing to fight it?

In fact, it's a declared war against India. War has no stereotypes. It has no predefined and mutually agreed rules. But our foolish (and dhimmi) leaders are not able to understand this.

This is a war, in which we are not participating. Whether you recognize it as a war or not, whether you participate in it to win or not, a war is a war is a war is a war.

India has lost most number of its citizens to jihadi and left terror than all the victims of other countries put together. War by terror is visible everywhere. But there is no "war on terror" in India. Now, you do not need any more tangible evidence to believe that India is soft on terror. It is as clear as a bright sun on the sky.

But WHY? That is what baffles ordinary citizens of this country.

If you study the twentieth century's politics and political history of India with no ideological bias, you will certainly come across two plain facts. One, Indian politicians have succumbed to the ideological onslaught of Islam and Communism. Two, they have completely internalized the sub-human status offered to them by these predatory ideologies. Most of our present generation political leaders are either born with this sub-human defeciency, which has been named as "Dhimmitude" by Egyptian scholar Bat Ye'or, or wedded to dhimmi-hood and happily embraced their sub-human "status".

This is not just vote-bank politics as pointed out by some analysts. Our leaders happily surrender themselves before the jihadi and commie schools of terrorism even when they do not get any votes! This is what dhimmitude is all about. This is dhimmi-attitude, pure and simple. You tend to regard certain ideas and ideologies as your inner master at your sub-conscious level and never think of fighting it.

This has now become an "All India Deficiency Syndrome". There should be no surprise when terrorists of two schools called Jihad and Naxalism often get reluctant, unorganized, non-coordinated, half-hearted "opposition" from our governments.

M.F. Husain, a self-exiled Islamist painter, who loves to humiliate Hindus with brush and paint is our "icon". Taslima Nasrin, a Bangladeshi Muslim woman-writer, who opposes Islam's anti-woman and anti-human tendencies, "does not deserve to live in India". She had be incarcerated in the name of security coverage till she became seriously ill. Then she had to move out of India just to experience what easy-breathing is all about!

India is the only country in the whole world which "tolerates" terrorism with "superb restraint". This is not a quality, but a weakness.

What has befallen you, Mother-India? What have you done to get unworthy sub-humans as your progeny?

With these" leaders" around, Jaipur is bound to recur. Cry, my countrymen, cry.

(c) G. "In my opinion this possibility (of life on other planets) exists," said Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, a 45-year-old Jesuit priest who is head of the Vatican Observatory and a scientific adviser to Pope Benedict XVI.

"How can we exclude that life has developed elsewhere," he told the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano in an interview in its Tuesday-Wednesday edition, explaining that the large number of galaxies with their own planets made this possible. Asked if he was referring to beings similar to humans or even more evolved than humans, he said: "Certainly, in a universe this big you can’t exclude this hypothesis."
In this context, I want to put some interesting questions to the "learned" scientific adviser to the pope and to the pope himself (or, should I write "Himself"?) !

1. Do these "extraterrestrial brothers" also believe the holy trinity and the church?

2. Has the "only son of God " went to different galaxies too, to perform his (or His) duty "of dying for their sins"?

3. How come the holy bible doesn't mention the universe as so big? or is it meant for the humble earth-citizens only?

4. Is their any possibility of sending the missionaries and the "holy pope" of course, to plant the cross across all the worlds as and when they become "known worlds"?

5. What if these "new worlds" have already got their own popes by the time they become known to us by the same God and His same only son? Is our pope satisfied with his jurisdiction then? What happens to his claim of being the Vicar of Christ then? Or does he want to become the "grand pope" of all the worlds to retain his title and, of course, rights and privileges?

Let the "good" adviser or his master answer!

(c) G. ''I do not believe in anger, hatred and violence", She said.

Fine, so nice of her! But it is very hard to be convinced. There are reports in the media that Murugan (Nalini's husband, co- conspirator) is writing an autobiography. According to rumor mills this book is full of "explosive revelations". So, the timing of the meeting raises many questions.

Nalini's lawyer, S Duraisamy who had filed an application under RTI act, has stated that he wanted this visit to be on record. That means the visit should be properly registered and the record should not get erased over time. His statement implies that it was intended to be a secret meeting. The point to be noted here is that it was Nalini's family and lawyers, who have made the media-disclosure about the meeting. Priyanka was left with no options. She had to admit that she visited Nalini. But as clever as her mother Sonia, Priyanka has now shown her "large-heartedness", like Sonia's much publicized "sacrifice" of Prime Ministership!!

The secret meeting is not as simple as it looks. Incidentally, It was Sonia Gandhi, who pleaded clemency for Nalini, who was convicted and sentenced to death by the court. Now Priyanka has visited her. Nalini's lawyer has told mediapersons that Priyanka wanted to find out who masterminded her father's assassination. Since all the Courts have already established that LTTE was the real conspirator, it is not clear why Priyanka wanted to know about the "real conspirator".

In early 2004 there were reports in the media that Congress and particularly Sonia's family had been trying to make a deal with LTTE and Edwardo Faleiro of the party had been sent to Lanka on a secret mission to meet LTTE leaders on behalf of Sonia. But he denied it he had said that he was on a personal tour in the northern Sri Lanka (a war-torn area!).

I don't know whether there is any substance to these claims. But Priyanka's visit certainly makes everybody suspicious. Visiting a convicted terrorist is not an ordinary thing. According to Dr. Subramaniam Swamy this is an illegal meeting. He has stated in his press-note that the Tamil Nadu government must prosecute Priyanka for criminal offence of trespass into a highly restricted prison in Vellore. He said the jail authorities had confirmed that Priyanka had no requisite permission to enter the jail, much less seek permission to meet the Supreme Court-convicted killer. He said he would file a private complaint in the court to enforce the police to do its statutory duty if the State government failed to do so by May 21.

He also said "if Priyanka wanted to tell the nation the truth about who contracted the LTTE to kill her father, she can begin by telling the nation about her father's last phone call from Visakhapatnam to her and the details of the conversations that took place. She should also investigate who persuaded Mr Gandhi to campaign in Seriperumbudur when even the local Congress candidate did not ask for it, and how his travel schedule became known to Sivarasan and to the LTTE even before the local police was informed of his visit...She should also ask her mother Sonia Gandhi why the UPA government had abandoned the demand for extradition of LTTE supremo V Prabhakaran and his lieutenant, Pottu Amman, who are still Accused No 1 and 2 respectively in the trial court chargesheet...The commutation of Nalini's death sentence to life imprisonment was illegally done in 2000 by the NDA government at the Centre and the DMK government in Tamil Nadu by asking the Governor to proclaim it. Only the President of India can grant such pardon under the Constitution.Hence if any move is made by Ms Priyanka Vadra to free Nalini from prison for some quid pro quo, I shall file a PIL against the same...''

So, there are many unanswered questions. Is Murugan's autobiography one of the reasons for the viist? Why Priyanka has repeatedly asked Nalini about the "real mastermind"? How can she hope to come to terms with the killing of her father (that too after 17 years!) by visiting the killer?

(c) G. Nobody has ever heard our leaders discussing that.

When Hyderabad was attacked -

“The Govt won't be cowed down by terror” –screamed Shivraj Paltil, union Home minister.

“This is an act of cowardice” –Renuka chowdary quipped.
And there ended the matter.
After two days -

“City life bounced back to normalcy”, “That’s the spirit of Indians” – Newspaper headlines cheered!

When there is a need for clear and decisive actions, our leaders throw only words.

If words had any killing-power, most of the terrorists would have been killed by now!

When you need some consoling words, you won’t get even them!

Consider this: on July 7, the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife visited the tube stations of London where the terrorists had planted bombs and killed innocent British citizens. They placed flowers at the spots of the blasts and prayed quietly for their fellow citizens. Contrast this with our own Dr. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Very next week, on July 11, he kept himself away from the functions that paid tribute to hundreds of those who lost their lives to serial blasts that took place on the same day last year in local trains of Mumbai.

When Muhammad Hanif, a Muslim doctor, was detained on terrorism-related charges in Australia, Dr. Singh said he lost his sleep. Perhaps he might have even got a sleep debt! But when it comes to the victims of terror attacks, not a single expression of solidarity!

Noted security expert B. Raman has this sad tale:

“How many acts of jihadi terrorism we have had in India since the present Government came to power in Delhi in 2004? Delhi, Varanasi, Mumbai, Malegaon, Bangalore, Samjota Express, Hyderabad. There has been no satisfactory progress in any of these investigations. In the past, our Police might have been criticized in some instances for its inability to prevent acts of terrorism, but it had generally received very high praise for its successful investigation. We all felt proud of the Mumbai Police of the 1990s recently when the case relating to the Mumbai blasts of March, 1993, in which about 250 innocent civilians were blown up by jihadi terrorists, ended in conviction. There were many other cases in which too the Mumbai Police of the 1990s had covered itself with credit. So too the Delhi Police. So too the Police of other cities. Why there is a perception now that they are not as good as they were in the 1990s? Has there been deterioration in their competence?

“No. In the 1990s, they received the full backing of the political leadership of those years, which took active interest in the investigation. The political leadership of those years did not give sermons to the police not to do anything which might be viewed by the Muslims as stigmatizing or targeting their community...The political leadership of today gives sermons and no leadership. It avoids active monitoring and supervision of the investigation lest the Muslims misunderstand.”

And that’s the fact.

With leaders like these, you don’t need enemies.

Do you?

© G. Why China is opposing Indo - US 123 nuclear deal?

Energy security acts as a catalyst to all-round development. China does not want India to become regional superpower.

2. Left and BJP are opposing the deal. What are the main differences between their opposition? (OR what are the different positions in India on 123 aggreement? which line is most advantageous to India?)

Indian Left cannot think beyond China. They serve Chinese interests.

But what about BJP? The seeds of Indo-US strategic-cooperation were sowed during Vajpayee's premiership. Now, confused BJP is not making correct assessments. It wants to score political points.

3. How could the differences between Congress, Left and BJP could be bridged regarding 123 aggreement?

This is an impossible task.

4. If we scrap the deal, how should we deal with China, Pakistan and US?

Current isolation of India will continue.

5. If we go ahead with the 123 aggreement - how should we approach the problem of engaging US?

123 agreement has a limited scope. It has many safety valves. Engaging US is important. It should not be altered with 123 agreement in force. Nuclear testing involves many risks even without the deal. For its own interests india has to take such risks, as it had done in 1998. Even with the deal, India can go-ahead with its decision of testing nuclear device regardless of the international ramifications. So, with or without the deal the situation remains same. Why anybody should lose assured fuel-supply?
There are questions about Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's mishandling of the issue. His secrecy, and the speed he maintained in sealing the deal raised many questions. His penchant for US is also well known.

I'm not aware of any secret clauses of the agreement. In a limited scope, the deal should be of help. Is this the only worthy family of India? What about Lal bahadur Shastri's contribution? As a young leader, what is Rahul’s own contribution? What can he offer to the country's welfare? What are his plans and programmes for the bright future of India? Why his party is averse to modern, humanitarian ideas? Why the same old dirty caste and communal politics?

In Uttar Pradesh, he said: "once we promise, we deliver at any cost". He criticized Congress' previous Prime minister P. V. Narasimha Rao (and will. of course, criticize Manmohan Singh too very soon!).

His obsessed statements about his family implies that:

1. You should always vote for "the family".
2. You should trust only Gandhi family members, and no other congress leaders.
3. Congress without this family is a big zero.
4. Lal Bahadur Shastri and P. V. Narasimha Rao were not as good as Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.
5. These "outsiders" were inefficient and sinners.
6. "The family" is God's own family which was sent to earth to die for other's sins. The family is the only saviour.
7. Those who were born and will born in this family born to rule (sorry, to save) this country.
8. As some tribal villages have village-ruling families, India's ruling family is Indira's (sorry, Sonia's) family.

This was what Rahul meant!

His tunnel vision, with selfish motives cannot bring the sinking Congress to the forefront in Uttar Pradesh.

He is the old dictatorial family's new burden on the nation. I had written this piece for my weekly column in Karmaveera. Many websites have carried it. -GAK)

"On January 8th, I reached Mantralaya. After taking the darshana of Brundavan of Sri Raghavendra Swami, I decided to go to the Panchamukhi-kshetra where Swami-ji had performed penance for 12 years. This is the place where Raghavendra Swami was blessed by Sri Anjaneya Swami. To go to Panchamukhi which is 21 kilometers from Mantralaya, I took an auto-rickshaw.

”As soon as we left Mantralaya, we saw a Christian colony. We saw a white colored church. The door of every house had a big cross on it. On the top of every house there was a picture of Jesus also. I thought they may be the houses of local Christians.

”After I continued on the road for 5 kilometers, I saw another large church. Around the church there were crosses on all the surrounding homes. It seems that the homes were recently decorated. As we came near the Panchamukhi village, a big steeple welcomed us. There also was a big church under construction.

”Out of curiosity, I asked the auto-rickshaw driver about this. He said the following: ‘Sir, in every village in this district, there is a church. Some villages are completely Christian. These people have been tempted with new houses or jeeps or auto-rickshaws. This is famine-struck area. The farmers are on point of committing suicide. In this state of desperation, who would say no to money?’."

The above experience is of Gurudutt, a Non-Resident Indian. He has already published this on the internet. A copy was sent to me from my friend by email.

There was a campaign to convert Tirupati to Christianity. Pejawar Swamiji investigated and confirmed this to be true. He then fought against this plot of the missionaries. After the opposition of the Christian community of Andhra, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Samuel Rajashekhar Reddy pledged not to endanger the Hindu identity of Tirumala.

Now the same warning bells are being heard around Mantralaya. Why is it happening like this?

"We shall encircle and undermine them and finally storm". This was the proclamation of the missionaries of the 19th century. Even in the present day, this motto is still in practice. In the Iraq War, as the American army advanced, American Baptist and Pentecostal missionaries entered Iraq to convert the people like how sheep are herded. In 2004, the Christian Science Monitor reported in detail about this. It is breaking news that now “candlelight processions” have begun in villages across Nepal.

For the last two decades, the Christian churches in Europe have lost the attraction of the people. This is no secret. In European news media, reports and statistics are always confirming this. Therefore, the Catholic Church in Europe has wanted to convert people from other parts of the world for a long time.

America, which is comprised of groups of small churches, is competing with the Catholic Church. Before Catholic missionaries can start their work abroad, the Baptist and Pentecostal missionaries beat them to it. They will spend any amount of money to bring non-Christians into their fold. It is difficult for the Vatican to accept this approach.

Cut-throat marketing! To convert non-Christians, there is competition between different churches! Not only this, but there is also a competition to convert other Christians from one church to another. In this also, Americans are far ahead.

There is a reason for this. In America, conversion has become a multi-billion dollar business. Missionaries get good income. Their plans have a budget and their commissions are proportionate to their success. Vacation, traveling and other perks are available to them. There are not just ordinary missionaries. These people may be tele-evangelists like Pat Robertson and Benny Hinn. They are kings of billions of dollar businesses!

To resolve the inter-church disputes, arising from attempts to convert non-Christians, there was recently a conference in Geneva to consider the viewpoints of all churches. A common "code of conduct" for conversion was mooted.

"In one Christian family, the husband is Catholic, the wife is an Evangelical Protestant, and the children are Pentecostal Protestants. We should stop this," says Sweden Lutheran Reverend Hans Yuko who took part in the Geneva World Council of Churches Conference. By 2009, the code-of-conduct is expected to be ready.

This basically means "we should not eat the whole animal when it is caught in a trap; we should compromise by sharing it and eating in pieces"!

In other words, Mantralaya is for one group, Tirupati is for another group, Iraq is for another and Nepal is for yet another!

(c) G. In the present Indian era of Rahul Gandhigiri, and the ruling alliance's great obsession with everything Islamic, I am posting this article, which, I believe, unveils the background -GAK]

According to her: “Dhimmitude derives from the surrender of the Christian clergy and political leaders to the Muslim jihad armies, and their submission to Islamic domination of both their lands and peoples. In exchange, they received a pledge of protection ('dhimma') from the Muslim sovereign - and the cessation of the jihad war. This "protection" was conditioned on a ransom payment (jizya) that was extorted from the vanquished Christian and Jewish populations (dhimmis). Sometimes, Christian submission to Islam was rooted in personal ambition. Dhimmitude often induced self-hatred, and hatred against Jews and Christians who resisted the jihad and Muslim domination. Christian dhimmitude has been a world force for Islamization throughout history.”

Hindus too have a similar history. And a section of the Hindu society was also subjected to the force of Dhimmah. “I realize that my study of dhimmitude remains incomplete,” says Bat Ye’or, “ because it is limited to Jews and Christians.

There are many attempts to equate Indian secular mindset with the vote-bank politics. But they cuold not prove its reliability because the pro-Islam secularists do not abandon their brand of “secularism” even if they do not get the votes of Muslims. This is a very curious-mindset, which has nothing to do with the original concept of secularism.

Originally secularism was a political concept that took shape in nineteenth century Europe as a revolt against the Church’s dominance over the affairs of the State. Secularism secured independence to the State from the control of the Church. So, essentially it is a power of the State that intends to give equal rights to all citizens without bothering about their religious faiths.

But unlike Christians and Muslims, Hindus never had a theocratic state of their own. They had never known theocracy till the advent of Islamic rule in this country. Hindu secularism was not born, with the new Constitution of India, in 1950, nor in 1976 when the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi inserted the word “secularism” in the preamble of the Constitution after putting the whole nation in the state of emergency.

In fact, Sanathana Dharma, the original name of Hinduism, has always supported pluralistic society anf traditions. It is absolutely not possible for it to proclaim a state religion and impose it by force. Dharma is not a concept that can be imposed through fraudulent means or through the power of the sword.

Contrast Sanatana Dharma with Islam. Islam has a fully developed theory and the apparatus of a theocratic state. In fact, it is not possible to spread Islam without any theocratic means. Except Turkey, no Islamic state has encountered a revolt from within, in such a scale, which can separate Islam from the affairs of the state. Because Islam accepts or knows no political system other than theocracy. It is very difficult to retain Islamic beliefs for a long time in pure secular environments where natural human instincts and reason have credence over unverifiable faiths. So, in order to sustain its original militant nature, Islam needs artificial support systems within a secular set-up.

And Gandhi’s secularism was one of such artificial support systems. In India, the Gandhian-secularism was the first major perversion of the original concept. Since religion was not a private matter to him, Gandhi’s secularism was not a separation of State and religion. In fact, his brand of secularism was a blind-worship of all religions and it believed that it was the primary duty of all to extend equal respect to all religions, no matter what their claims were.

In the name of communal amity, Gandhi created an illusion of Hindu-Muslim unity and developed and introduced a method to achieve it. Under his method, Hindus had to sacrifice everything and tolerate all sorts of demands and actions of Muslims. This illusion dragged him to support even the Khilafat movement, which was nothing but an Islamist revivalism that took thousands of Hindu lives.

From his flawed theory of equal-respect-to-all-religions-is-secularism, Gandhi quickly marched towards the-essence-of-all-religions-are-actually-one-and-the-same theory and powerfully propagated it. And that was a great myth, which still haunts Hindus.

But it was Marxists who gave the grand theory of Minorityism to the whole world. Indian Marxists gave it to the British-rulers and to the Congress Party. Even today, the Congress Party, which has no ideology of its own, draws heavily from the far left.

Marxists, whose global support to the cause of Jihad is well known now, successfully created an impression that in India, the minorities, especially Muslims, are living under the mercy of a Hindu majority. That gave rise to the two-nation theory and culminated in the partition of the country in 1947.

Now, the secularism means protection of minorities against the majority. Secularism has become a system that gives more and more special rights to the “minorities”. It even fodders the fire of separatism. So, Indian secularism is no more than an anti-Hindu doctrine. All those who want to destroy Hindu culture and society support it.

The motive of dhimmitva forces is to serve the religious line of Islam. Like Islam, this dhimmi-secularism also has a deep thread of intolerance toward unbelievers of this kind of dhimmi ideology, especially if those unbelievers are believed to be a threat to the religious ambitions of Islam.

The fact that these dhimmis are working tirelessly in support of the most intolerant, aggressive and fundamentalist part of Islam cannot be ignored. Take Jihad for example. This war is responsible for the creation of dhimmis throughout the world.

As Bat Ye’or rightly says, non-Muslims have to criticize the prejudices and laws, which, over the centuries, reduced them to a humiliating subhuman conditions. But strangely, if you start asking questions on the doctrine of Jihad, the very next moment they will brand you as a “communal” fanatic, and even a terrorist who is trying to malign and swallow a peace loving minority religion!

Of course, this is a standard response of a Jihadi activist. So, the voice of a fanatic Islamist finds itself replicated in “secular” mouths! But no secularist will mind if you make any number of statements against Hinduism. They can tolerate any number of unfair criticisms against Hinduism, but no fair criticism on Islam is tolerated. In their eagerness to serve their Islamic masters’ aspirations and ambitions they needlessly denigrate their own religion, Hinduism.

This is so, because dhimmitva agrees with the Muslim notion of Islam’s infallibility. So, dhimmis-secularists never question Muhammad’s code. They do not allow anyone to discuss about Islam frankly and openly like one discusses Hinduism. Of course, you can praise it! But there is no room for dissent and no room for doubt.

Even Muslims who criticize militant Islam are not spared. Note that how Salman Rushdie was vehemently opposed for his novel The Satanic Verses.

There is no room in secular psyche for different perspectives, even from Muslims themselves! In his book, Muslim Politics in India, Hamid Dalwai, a Muslim writer, sums up his experience thus: “A Hindu is used to playing several roles and he is an expert in assuming different forms on different occasions. I have already referred to Hindu intellectuals and given the due praise. But I must frankly state that there is a kind of Hindu who is always terrified when he thinks of Muslims. This is no doubt a shameful state of affairs. At every critical moment this particular type of Hindu pretends to be more of a Muslim than a Muslim himself, and thwarts the attempts of those who are trying to make the average Muslim less of a fanatic”.

Suhail Ahmad Banglori, another Muslim scholar, adds: “The model behaviour expected from the dhimmis is one of submission, and acceptance of all the disabilities imposed upon them. As a reaction to the terror, Hindus, as dhimmis, feel with respect to Islam, they have practiced being inoffensive to Muslims over the centuries, and seek the Umma’s approval or avoid the Umma’s displeasure. If they organise themselves at all, it is on platforms, which the Umma certifies as permissible. Hindus thus cannot formparties on a Hindu platform, whereas the Muslim League lives on in India, after partition, without even a cosmetic change of name.”

Because their mind was subjected to severe suppression under Islamic rule. They not only submitted to Muslim power, but also, in due course deeply internalized the perfect dhimmi mind-set. They lost their reason, self-respect and even self-identity. They never consider Hindus as equal to Muslims. They never care if Hindus would be left with lesser rights than Muslims, which is the actual position imposed by the Indian Constitution of 1950, which also saw several pro-Islamic amendments. Even if it is lesser dignity, they don’t mind. Like true believers, they never put Islam under critical examination as it is “blasphemous”. And they have no courage to refuse the decision of ijma, which is the consensus of the Islamic community, ummah.

The subjugation of reason and judgment and even conscience to the dictates of Islamic dogma has led Indian secularists to perform crazy acts, all in the name of secularism.¨

(c) G. For Congress means Sonia, it is obvious for her to think that the new wave should favour her and her family.

Delegates from 83 countries, carefully handpicked by Sonia and co., did come to the meeting, which was held at the five-star settings of India International Centre. Among them were non-aligned politicians, heads of states.

Indian opposition parties were left out, for obvious reasons, of course. You can invite foreign politicians. Because they do not challenge you in elections. How can you invite your own political adversaries?

Strangely, the veteran Satyagrahis of India, now in their 80’s and 90’s, who were the real representatives of Gandhiji, were also left out! How can those poor citizens be invited for a five-star congregation, attended by the heads of states and other VIPs to witness the rise of a new political Pole-star?

The epicenter of the show, and the new pole-star, was none other than Rahul Gandhi, the “crown prince” of India (the title conferred on him by the weekly magazine, Newsweek). Most of the African delegates were eager to get themselves photographed with him. They rushed towards him as if they were witnessing the second coming of Christ. He came to the meet. He met the delegates. And he “conquered” them! After the brief gala, he disappeared quietly.

It was just a photo-session for him. But for chosen delegates, it was a photo opportunity. He did not utter even a single word about Satyagraha. He just said it was a great learning experience for him. He was there for a few minutes. What were the lessons that he learnt, and from whom, that too in such a short time? It is not clear. And we are not expected to be clear about it.

But, it seems that Sonia's son Rahul has his own brand of “Gandhigiri”, as the reports from Amethi, his paliamentary constituency, do suggest. How Sonia and Rahul represent Gadhiji is also well known.

(c) G.
